AIDA Queensland honour Charlotte’s memory.

While living in Brisbane Charlotte was very much involved in Irish dancing, initially as a competitor and later as a teacher, having taken her TCRG qualification. Charlotte was also the secretary of the Australian Irish Dancing Association Queensland branch.

Following Charlotte’s death, AIDA Queensland donated a trophy in her memory, to be presented at the Queensland State Championships for the mixed intermediate traditional set dance. This competition was chosen as a traditional set dance was a favourite of Charlotte’s and she was well known for the rhythm she could achieve in her dancing.

On August 3rd, Charlotte’s family attended the championships in Brisbane and presented the medals and trophies to the winning dancers. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet people from the Irish dancing community who had known Charlotte so well and had supported her through her battle with cancer. As a family we are very proud that Charlotte’s memory is being kept alive in this way.
